Are You Dehydrated?

In today’s society it has been many times confused with other health complaints. Dehydration it is a condition where more fluids, mostly water, is being lost from our body than being taken in. Our body excretes from 2 to 3 liters (67-101 oz.) per day. Where 1,5 l (50 oz) we urinate, 0,5 l (17 oz) we breathe out and  0,5l (17 oz) we loose with sweat. That is why it is very important to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning. Unfortunately most of us, drink coffee which dehydrate us even more.


Most of the symptoms are:

•Increased thirst

• Dry mouth and swollen tongue

• Weakness

• Dizziness

•Palpitations (feeling that the heart is jumping or pounding)


•Sluggishness fainting


•Inability to sweat

•Decreased urine output


In some cases dehydration is very connected with headache. Thus we tend to threat a symptoms with medication. We cover indications instead of fighting with root cause. That is what Dr. Batmanghelidj discovered while he was put in prison in Iran was in forced to threat inmates. Unfortunately having no medication he gave his patients water. After a while he noticed that some of the symptoms disappeared. Then we figure it out that with water he was able to get many of the suffering of prisoners by simply giving them water to drink. The best counteract is to drink more water. Have you heard that it is better to prevent that threat. That is why drinking 2-3 liters of water every single day prevents dehydration.  


I had a migraines. Very strong headaches that I couldn’t do anything. Some told me to drink more water. That was new for me cause I had never drunk water before. I love to drink coffee and some soft juices, but no water. For me it did not taste good. That is why I preferred to drink other things.
